As the players made their way to the field, the significant news was bound to reach their ears. It is likely that the English Football Association's senior officials convened an urgent high-level meeting to discuss their response. It is worth noting that the scheduled post-game interviews with head coach Tuchel and the players were cancelled, and it is challenging to envision anyone from their ranks delivering a composed statement under the current circumstances.
